Eligible Australians can now apply for the Australian Government Help to Buy Scheme (Help to Buy), a shared equity initiative designed to make home ownership more achievable for thousands of eligible households.

Housing Australia welcomes the appointments made by the Minister for Housing, Minister for Homelessness and Minister for Cities, confirming Ms Haleh Homaei and Mr Ken Smith as members of the Housing Australia Board.

We also welcome the extension of Mr Damien Tangey as Acting Chair.

To make it easier for applicants to navigate funding options and access support, the Australian Government, in partnership with Housing Australia, is streamlining the social and affordable housing funding products administered by Housing Australia.

Housing Australia is pleased to announce the Australian Government Help to Buy Scheme is now available to residents in Western Australia.

Housing Australia welcomes the strong market response to Funding Round 3 of the Housing Australia Future Fund (HAFF), with a high volume of Expressions of Interest (EOIs) submitted to the Housing Diversity and Partnerships at Scale Streams to date. 

The Australian Government Help to Buy Scheme, launched on 5 December 2025, is already helping to make home ownership more accessible for Australians who need it most.
